Welcome to the Picture website.  Picture is a framing gallery situated in West London in the Brook Green area of the Shepherds Bush Road.   Established in 1989 as studio based picture framers the gallery was opened in 2000. We specialize in high quality picture framing for both trade and retail clients from the simplest of ready made frames to conservation standard hand finished bespoke framing.

The gallery holds an eclectic mix of contemporary art, primarily British printmakers as well as a range of children’s prints which are available to buy framed or unframed. Below are some of our featured artists at the present time.

Quentin Blake

Quentin Blake
Quentin Blake’s illustrations have an exuberance and vitality that transcends age barriers, appealing to both children and adults alike. Known best for his collaborations with Roald Dahl, he has illustrated over 250 books and is now recognised as a national institution according to the Guardian. This is a new release of signed and numbered giclee prints in an edition of  only 195.

Betty BibBetty Bib
These exquisite watercolours and embroideries are the work of Lesley Buckingham, creator of Betty Bib, the reknowned fairy scholar and collector of fairy memorabilia. She has published three richly illustrated books to date, including ‘Betty Bib’s Fairy Christmas’ and ‘Betty Bib’s Fairy Handbook’. This is a rare opportunity to buy her original artwork, and we also have some smaller hand crafted individual fairies in deep cut 8 ply mounts.

Bruce McLeanBruce McLean
This is Bruce McLean’s latest limited edition print  ‘Agave Americana ‘. It has 18 colours with collage, including satin and UV varnish, on 410 gsm Somerset tub-sized paper. It has a low edition size of 100 and only 10 A/P’s, making it highly collectable.  Also released is Black Mimosa, which  complements Agave Americana nicely.  If you want the pair we can supply matching edition numbers.

Peter BlakeSir Peter Blake
Sir Peter Blake is releasing a series of 12 retrospective silkscreen prints of icons from his work during the 50’s and 60’s, such as Marilyn Monroe. Each print in this series is signed and numbered by Sir Peter Blake in an edition of 175. The first 25 will not be released singly as they will become part of a portfolio to be released at a later date.  Each of the 25 boxed folios will contain all 12 prints with matching edition numbers. The ninth print of this series has just been released entitled ‘The Fine Art Bit’, based on a painting / collage that he made in 1959. He is exploring the nature of the reproduction of art, juxtaposing the modern, boldly coloured stripes with traditional postcard sized images of high art.

Jane FosterJane Foster
Brighton based artist Jane Foster grew up in the 70’s and has a passion for the fabrics of that era which she uses in her silkscreen prints. Strongly influenced by Scandinavian design, her prints are characterized by bold colours and abstract geometric patterns.

Kim JenkinsKim Jenkins
Kim Jenkins has a unique folk aesthetic and a positive spirit which serves as an antedote to the gloom that surrounds us at present.  Born in Hull, she moved to London to study printmaking at Camberwell College of Art,  utilising various techniques such as foil printing.  Her inspiration comes from wildlife, especially birds and from her numerous bicycle trips abroad. In 2007 she featured in ‘Happy London’ a group exhibition at the Paul Smith ’SPACE’ gallery in Tokyo,  and she also sells her own recycled bags and printed products to various shops including the RCA shop and the South Bank Centre.
